Replacement Power Supplies for the Aruba AP-85FX, AP-85LX and AP-85TX Access Points

Replacement Power Supplies for the Aruba AP-85FX, AP-85LX and AP-85TX Access Points

The Aruba AP-85FX, AP-85LX, and AP-85TX access points boast versatile input power systems designed to accommodate various deployment scenarios and environmental conditions. These access points are engineered to operate reliably in outdoor environments, where traditional power sources may not be readily available or practical.

Aruba AP-85 Access Point

The AP-85FX and AP-85LX models are built to accept power inputs ranging from 90-288VAC mains power or +12VDC from solar, battery or AC-DC converter systems. This flexibility enables deployment in remote locations or areas with limited access to conventional power grids.

Similarly, the AP-85TX model supports a diverse range of power inputs, including standard 802.3af compliant Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) or +12VDC solar/ battery power. This compatibility with PoE simplifies installation and reduces the need for additional power infrastructure, making it an ideal choice for deployments where Ethernet cabling can be used.

Streetlight/ Light Pole Power Tap

An interesting note here is that, the AP-85FX/LX models offer the unique capability to leverage street light power tap kits, allowing them to be directly powered from street light poles. This feature enhances deployment flexibility, particularly in urban environments and remote sites with existing infrastructure. The designed Aruba part for this is the AP-85-PT-1 streetlight power tap.
