The
Mitsubishi Electric PAC-SDW01RC-3 is the latest
evolution of the Simple Ductless Wired Remote Controller, replacing the
PAC-SDW01RC-2
with a range of functional and integration-focused enhancements. While
maintaining the same core purpose—simple, wall-mounted control of Mitsubishi
indoor units—the new revision introduces meaningful improvements in
connectivity, system integration, and user experience.
1. Seamless Integration with the Comfort App
One of the most significant upgrades is
native
compatibility with the Comfort App. The PAC-SDW01RC-3 can now connect
directly via the red connector on the
Wireless Interface 2 or through the CN105
connector on indoor units with built-in Wi-Fi.
When ISU 134 is set to “Installed,” the controller
transitions key functions—such as Auto Mode and scheduling—from the wall
controller to the app. This creates a centralized control strategy where
advanced scheduling and automation are managed digitally, while the wall
controller remains a simple, local interface.
2. Improved System Behavior for Ducted Applications
For ducted systems, the PAC-SDW01RC-3 introduces smarter fan
control. The controller will now automatically shut off the indoor unit fan
once the setpoint is reached, improving comfort and reducing unnecessary
airflow and energy consumption.
Additionally, minimum and maximum setpoint limits are now
automatically configured based on the connected model, eliminating the need
for manual adjustment and reducing commissioning time.
3. Expanded Integration with Auxiliary Equipment
A key enhancement in the PAC-SDW01RC-3 is the addition of ISU
201, which brings PAA (Programmable Auxiliary Application) settings
directly into the main menu. This enables more advanced control logic when
integrating external devices such as:
Installers can now configure the behavior of G/W/Y
terminals with greater precision, making the controller far more capable in
hybrid or IAQ-focused system designs.
4. Enhanced System Visibility and Diagnostics
The updated controller improves transparency and
troubleshooting capabilities:
Furnace
changeover status is now displayed (Extended vs. Balanced), giving
clearer insight into system operation in dual-fuel or hybrid setups.
Error
codes now reappear after being snoozed, ensuring that intermittent or
unresolved issues are not overlooked.
5. Refined User Experience
Mitsubishi has also focused on usability with this revision:
A new,
more intuitive menu layout simplifies navigation and reduces setup
complexity
A decorative
wall plate is now included, improving installation aesthetics and
reducing the need for additional accessories
What sets it apart from the PAC-SDW01RC-2:
Comfort
App integration with centralized scheduling and Auto Mode control
Automatic
fan shutoff for ducted systems
Model-based
setpoint limits
New
PAA configuration (ISU 201) for auxiliary equipment integration
Enhanced
diagnostics and system visibility
Improved
menu design and included a wall plate
