UHF and N Connectors performance

UHF and N Connectors performance

Just seen a discussion somewhere on the pros and cons of these two crimp connectors. Is it true that UHF connectors performance deteriorates faster over time since they are not water-proof? For outdoor installations in this case. Also does this imply the N-connector has better outdoor performance since its waterproof?

I do have a base antenna with UHF connectors currently, it will need about 80ft of good coax cable. Can you make a recommendation for a good cable/ crimp? Impedance matching should be for 50 Ohms.
