I have been contemplating a solar installation for a barn here in Key West, Fl. My plan is to do my own research on equipment need and power consumption, so far so good. My question to anyone here is on what is preferable between a 12V or 24V DC installation, pros and cons for each? (The reason for this particularly is to help me in sizing my charge controller, I see that i have to divide my total panel output with the system voltage to get controller rating. My calculations place the panel output requirement at 2000W, for a 12V DC system this would mean 2000/12 = 166A.) Is this the case?
